Using materials from projects in the family editor

You have created materials in a project or template file and would like to use the same materials when creating families.

As with copying materials between projects you can also use Transfer Project Standards to copy materials from a project or template into a family.

To copy materials:

1. Open the project or template you want to copy materials from.
2. Ensure a view of family you are working on is the active window
3. Select File pull down>Transfer Project Standards
4. In the ‘Select Items to Copy’ dialog select the project or template to copy from and select the materials checkbox:

5. In the Duplicate Types dialog elect to overwrite materials with the same name that already exist in the family or to copy new materials only.
